A Northrop Grumman Antares rocket, with the company’s Cygnus spacecraft onboard, launched from the Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad-0A, at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. ◆レンセラー工科大学（RPI）の研究者は、宇宙ステーションを利用して、ヒートパイプ内の蒸気液体界面を理解するための研究を行っています。この研究は、アメリカ国立科学財団（NSF）の支援を受けており、ヒートパイプの効率向上に寄与する可能性があります。
◆ヒートパイプは電子デバイスの冷却だけでなく、衛星や火星ローバーなどの宇宙探査にも使用されています。微小重力下での研究は、液体から蒸気への相転移と蒸気液体界面の挙動について新たな洞察を提供し、さまざまな分野で技術革新を促進する可能性があります。将来的には、低軌道のヒートパイプ利用施設の開発も検討されています。
