タフツ大学の研究チームは、エネルギー消費を大幅に削減しつつ性能を向上させる新しいAIモデルを開発した。従来の大規模AIは高い計算コストと電力消費が課題だったが、本研究では効率的なモデル設計と計算手法の最適化により、処理能力を維持または向上させながら消費エネルギーを大幅に低減することに成功した。これにより、AIの環境負荷軽減や持続可能な運用が可能となる。また、高性能と低消費電力の両立は、データセンターやエッジデバイスへの応用にも有望であり、今後のAI技術の普及と省エネルギー化に重要な貢献が期待される。
